2 April, 20 May, 4 June, 7:30pm, Literaturhaus Berlin
On the occasion of the upcoming European elections this May the author Max Czollek will curate and moderate a three-part literary series with European poets in the Literaturhaus Berlin. Their works are part of a larger search for a language for “Europe”; a Europe which is both a concrete utopia as well as a political reality, not immune to criticism. The first event will be opened by the Belgian poet and performance artist Charlotte Van den Broeck and the Swedish lyricist Athena Farrokhzad, who takes a critical stance against present-day developments in Europe in her “Letter to Europe”. On the following event dates Dean Atta, Miruna Vlada, Iryna Tsylik and Efe Duyan will discuss the role and power of poetry as a form of resistance in today’s societies.
