Passages in Portbou or the Memory of the Nameless

In the summer of 2018, 60 young people from Western, Southern and South-Eastern Europe will meet to develop a dance theater piece in the Catalan border town of Portbou. The central content of the dance performance is the dramatic situation of hundreds of thousands of people who have to leave their country for a variety of reasons and the resistance to the "strangers" in European societies.

In addition, the thinking and fate of the philosopher Walter Benjamin, who took his own life in Portbou on the run from Nazi Germany in September 1940, was included in the dance work.
