In 2019 the Ruhrtriennale will once again invite 200 students from more than 15 international art and drama schools to its Festival Campus – including scenographers from Fredrikstad (Norway), master students of scenic research in Bochum, applied theater science in Gießen, composition in Birmingham and directors of contemporary object theater from Prague, among others. They sit down together with artists to discuss the festival’s productions in workshops and seminars. Ruhrtriennale’s artistic director Stefanie Carp and her team will give them insight into the creation of a festival. For the first time this year, phD scholars from Marocco, Israel and the US will participate in the program.
The campus program is a space for encounters: between established artists and creative young people, between the successful avant-garde and subversive experiments, between artistic practitioners of different working backgrounds and from diverse cultural contexts.
The campus program of the Ruhrtriennale has been established in 2012, bringing together international students and the artists represented in the festival in the Ruhr metropolitan area. It is a platform for interdisciplinary and intercultural exchange.
Ruhrtriennale is the international arts festival hosted by the Ruhr metropolitan area. The venues of the Ruhrtriennale are the region’s outstanding industrial monuments which are transformed each year into spectacular sites for music, fine art, theater, dance, and performance.
