Mathias Énard

French author and translator, born 1972 in Niort (France). Studied Persian and Arabic Languages in Paris at the "Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales" (INALCO). After a longer stay in different Near and Middle Eastern countries, he worked for various cultural and literary journals. Since 2010 he has taught Arabic at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
